Product Description

Tokina has taken one of its most popular optics up a notch with the release of the atx-I 11-16mm f/2.8 CF Lens. This ultra-wide-angle zoom is designed for APS-C DSLRs and is available in Canon EF and Nikon F mounts, where it will provide a 17.6-25.6mm or 16.5-24mm equivalent, respectively. It has been redesigned to improve image quality and the user experience. Tokina says the lens will provide excellent edge-to-edge sharpness, even wide open at its constant f/2.8 aperture, and will maintain contrast and color by minimizing flare and ghosting. It also boasts minimal breathing and limited edge distortion, which make it a popular choice for filmmakers.
It is a complex, state-of-the-art zoom containing 13 elements in 11 groups, including dual aspheric elements, a large P-MO element, and a pair of all-glass molded low-dispersion (SD) elements for minimal chromatic and spherical aberrations, minimal distortion, and maximum overall sharpness, especially along the edges. The front element also features a waterproof coating for easy cleaning.
In addition to a fixed, f/2.8 maximum aperture throughout the zoom range, Tokina’s new lens also features a one-touch AF/MF clutch, along with a snap-back focus ring for quick and easy switching between auto and manual focusing. If your forte is architecture, landscapes, or astrophotography, Tokina’s new 11-16mm atx-i CF ultra-wide zoom is well worth a closer look.
