The clever minds at BOSS have a flair for figuring out what sorts of gear guitar and bass players dig. From their classic stompboxes to their slick amplifiers, BOSS equipment can be found in rigs around the world. The newest additions to the BOSS family—the SY-1000 three-voice guitar/bass synthesizer and the Waza-Air wireless guitar headphones system—are sure to spur some inspiration and excitement in your live performances, recording sessions, and rehearsals.
Designed as BOSS’s flagship guitar/bass synth and modeling processor, the SY-1000 employs custom DSP and 32-bit / 48 kHz processing to deliver new levels of tone, expression, and control. It not only comes with refreshed versions of the OSC Synth, GR-300, E. Guitar, E. Bass, Acoustic, VIO Guitar, and Poly FX, but also empowers you with amps and effects ported from the GT-1000. Whereas many guitar synths can only provide one sound, the SY-1000 boasts three simultaneous instrument types, each offering pitch, level, and panning per string. Need different tunings from song to song? That’s no problem for the SY-1000.
The SY-1000’s new Dynamic Synth function incorporates ten oscillator waveforms and two 16-part step sequencers with pitch, filter, and amplitude settings that can evolve and follow the envelope of your guitar or bass. Considering that you can use three Dynamic Synths simultaneously, you can turn your guitar into a massive sonic soundscape churning with three oscillators and six step sequencers.
