Moza has announced an update to its Slypod 2-in-1 motorized monopod: the Slypod E, a sleek, streamlined design with the same unique feature set. The updated Slypod E features solid aluminum construction, a new tripod adapter, and a longer, visually redesigned housing. It can be used as a monopod or as a jib when mounted on a tripod, allowing you to mount your camera directly or on a gimbal for smooth, high-quality shots.
The Slypod E maintains all the great features of the original Slypod, including support for motorized jib-style extension and retraction up to 11", motion up to 1.1" per second, and has the same 600mAh battery capacity that lasts for approximately 2 hours of use. The same functions, such as 10 controllable speed gears on the shaft, 100 levels of speed control via the smartphone app, and handy shooting modes such as time-lapse and gearshift mode, help you produce high-quality shots.
The original Slypod, constructed with carbon fiber, can sometimes prove a bit too light to steady a heavier rig without additional support. The aluminum Slypod E, weighing a bit more than its predecessor, provides that additional weight and rigidity to keep your rig steady while in motion. The design is slightly longer at 3.3' when extended fully, to assist with additional counterbalance, and it retracts to approximately 1.9' long for storage, maintaining its compact, portable size. The Slypod E also maintains the same 9-lb horizontal and 20-lb vertical safety load capacity, with a maximum of 20-lb horizontal and 40-lb vertical when you're using additional support.
