Product Description

Look out, all feeble-sounding synthesizers, as of NAMM 2020, there’s a new synth in town and it’s not messing around. Designed as the successor to the award-winning Sub Phatty, the new Moog Subsequent 25 paraphonic analog synthesizer brings a slew of Subsequent Series features to enhance the sight, sound, and feel without sacrificing the compact form Sub Phatty players love.
For starters, the Subsequent 25 still has 25 semi-weighted, velocity-sensitive keys, but they’ve been upgraded to make the playability even better. Of course, the keys on their own don’t make a Moog a Moog; it’s all about the sound. The Subsequent 25’s analog sound engine offers two oscillators, one sub oscillator, one noise generator, and twice the headroom of the Sub Phatty—it’ll stay clean if you want it that way, or it can be pushed past the grit and growl of the Sub Phatty, thanks to a re-tuned Multidrive circuit. Run the Subsequent 25 in traditional mono, or use its Duo mode for the paraphonic fun of producing two Moog sounds at the same time. Alternatively, patch an external source into the 1/4" input and manipulate it through the tasty Moog circuits.
When it comes to modulation, the Subsequent 25 has an LFO with selectable modes of triangle, square, sawtooth, ramp, or sample and hold, plus pitch bend and mod wheel controllers. The next stop is the classic Moog ladder filter, equipped with four slopes (6, 12, 18, or 24 dB/octave) and reworked gain staging to increase harmonic saturation and analog compression for more rewarding lows. Don’t forget about presets; the Subsequent 25 has new ones made to utilize its improved circuitry and you can store your own (up to 16).
