Just because it’s NAMM 2020 time, it doesn’t mean that DJs have been forgotten. Professional and mobile DJs will undoubtedly be keen on Denon DJ’s new PRIME 2 and PRIME GO smart DJ consoles. The PRIME 2 is made to be a beast in the club circuit, while the PRIME GO is built for backpack-friendly transit and up to four hours of battery-powered performing.
Both consoles feature a similar and impressive foundation. Each boasts a 7" HD touchscreen with gesture capability, two decks, and built-in Wi-Fi, plus wired Internet connectivity for easy music streaming in a variety of venues. Additionally, they can analyze your music files and rekordbox libraries from USB and let you hear what’s up via the stand-alone Track Preview function. Being compatible with Engine Prime software, they also support importing collections from iTunes, Serato DJ, and Traktor. Their analog I/O ports are nearly identical; two XLR-1/4" combo mic inputs with EQ/level and talk-over, an RCA input for stereo music sources such as media players and mobile devices, XLR and RCA master outputs, and 1/4" and 3.5mm headphone outs. For the booth outputs, the PRIME 2 uses XLR jacks, whereas the PRIME GO has 1/4" sockets.
