Product Description

The NAB show may have been canceled, but there is still a host of exciting and innovative new broadcast-centric audio gear being released this year, including the new IFBR1B Bodypack IFB Receiver from Lectrosonics.
IFB systems are used for monitoring, talent cueing, and crew communication in broadcast work, and the company is hailing this new model as the “tiny IFB receiver that everyone has been asking for.” At a height of 2.8", a length of 2.4", and a width of .8" the unit is indeed tiny; it’s also lightweight at a mere 3.4 oz including the rechargeable battery and belt clip.

Not only is the IFBR1B smaller and lighter than the previous generation IFBR1A, its LCD screen makes it substantially easier to use. A single knob controls power and volume while the 3.5mm jack can power a wide variety of earbuds, headphones, and induction neck loops.
The memory capacity has been doubled from 5 programmable setup memories to 10. Powering has also been given a sizable improvement, with the 9V battery upgraded to a removeable LB-50 lithium-ion. The LB-50 will power the receiver for more than 8 hours with an LED to warn you when the battery level is low.
The IFBR1A has been in service for almost 20 years, so before bringing the replacement IFBR1B to market, Lectrosonics did extensive in-the-field beta testing, with professionals in news operations and location sound confirming improved audio quality with a lower noise floor. The IFBR1B receiver is completely compatible and ready to work with existing IFBT4 transmitters, provided there is a frequency overlap. The unit is available in 5 frequency ranges with colored caps to differentiate the bands at a glance.
