Now available to order at B&H: the HP ZBook Firefly 14" and 15.6" G7 mobile workstations. According to HP, the Firefly combines the powerful performance of its ZBook series with the portability of a much smaller laptop, making it an excellent option for professionals on the go. Based on what we’ve seen so far, we’re inclined to agree.
The Firefly G7 is available in both 14" and 15.6" versions. Beyond the physical dimensions, there aren’t many differences between the two. Both models use 10th-Gen Intel® Core™ processors and NVIDIA Quadro graphics cards. Both offer storage options up to 2TB, gigabit-class 4G LTE connectivity, and long-lasting battery life rated at up to 14 hours. And despite their size differences, both feature stunning 4K displays. The most notable difference between the two models—apart from their screen size—is that even though both variants offer up to 64GB of RAM, the 14" model only supports that 64GB of RAM with integrated—that is, not discrete—graphics. The 15" model can be customized with up to 64GB of RAM with no restrictions.
As mentioned, both Firefly models are extremely portable. The 14" model weighs 3.1 lb, while the 15" version is 3.8 lb. Despite weighing less than a copy of War and Peace, both models are designed to be extremely durable. According to HP, the Firefly was put through strenuous testing to ensure it can withstand the rigors of even the most demanding workdays.
