Already a leader in digital cinema production, Sony is launching the Cinema Line today with products for all types of content creators. While Sony is bringing existing products into the Cinema Line, surprising us all was the reveal of the PXW-FX6, a more compact cinema camera. Of course, details are scarce on the new camera, because it is slated for later in 2020, but it is exciting to see it.
I can't speculate too much about the upcoming FX6, although by looking at the image, there is a bit we can infer. Mainly, it is designed to maintain the same aesthetic and basic control scheme as the current Cinema Line, which includes the VENICE and FX9. This is clearly the smallest of the bunch and should be very tempting for many creatives looking to move up to a serious cinema camera.
