Product Description

Tamron has just announced a new, constant-aperture standard zoom for APS-C-format Sony E-mount cameras: the 17-70mm f/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD. With a 25.5-105mm equivalent focal length range, this fast, versatile lens offers a 4.1x zoom ratio, perfect for near and distant subjects. A constant f/2.8 maximum aperture, and the inclusion of Tamron's Vibration Compensation (VC) image stabilization, make this lens a solid choice for handheld shooting under a variety of lighting conditions.

The optical design includes two Glass Molded Aspherical (GM) elements, one hybrid aspherical element, and two low-dispersion elements to minimize distortion and color fringing to produce sharp images with clear rendering and accurate color. A Broad-Band Anti-Reflection (BBAR) coating also suppresses reflections for greater contrast, especially in backlit conditions. With a minimum focusing distance of 7.5" at the wide end and 15.4" at the tele end, you can make creative wide-angle close-ups as well as tighter portraits with this lens.
