Product Description

Get ready for the next phase of Wi-Fi technologies, with Wi-Fi 6E. ASUS and TP-Link are among the first to announce Wi-Fi 6E-compatible routers to help cut through congested areas for reliable and fast signals. Where traditional Wi-Fi 6 routers make use of the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, both of which are incredibly crowded with a multitude of wireless devices, 6E adds the recently FCC-approved 6 GHz signal band with fourteen 80 MHz channels or seven 160 MHz channels for compatible devices. This relatively unused airspace grants more room for wireless data transmissions for smoother 4K video streaming, online gaming, and video conferencing experiences.

Wi-Fi 6E devices such as the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 gaming router, the TP-Link Deco X96 AX7800 Whole Home mesh system, the TP-Link Archer AX96 AX7800 tri-band router, and others are expected to release later this year for enhanced home and business wireless network performance. The only caveat is that, even though these routers will be backward compatible with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, only Wi-Fi 6E-compatible devices can take advantage of the 6 GHz band. However, Wi-Fi 6E adapters and other devices are likely to release in the coming months to complement the launch of these high-performance routers.
