
Great news if you’re an ALEXA Mini LF cinema camera owner: ARRI has just announced the release of the latest ALEXA Mini LF camera software update, SUP 7.0. This update is the latest after the previous SUP 6.0.22 and extensive customer beta testing, and it offers a long list of requested features, such as Super 35 recording formats, recording large formats with lower data rates, and a variety of usability features.
The new Super 35 recording formats include the following:
- 3.4K S35 3:2 — 3.4K up to 60 fps
- 3.2K S35 16:9 — 3.2K up to 75 fps
- 2.8K S35 4:3 — 2.8K up to 75 fps
- 2.8K S35 16:9 — HD up to 100 fps
The large-format, low-data rate updates include the following:
- 4.3K LF 16:9 — UHD up to 48 fps
- 4.3K LF 16:9 — HD up to 75 fps
Other updated features include:
- Expanded recording format names
- Improved Magnification monitoring overlay
- Support for the ARRI 1.7x Signature Zoom Extender
- Expanded list of default framelines
- Increased number of framelines
- User setup file forward/backward compatibility
- Camera Access Protocol (CAP) enhancements
- Improved communication with LBUS devices
- ECS improvements
- Improved logfile exporting
- Powerline Communication
- System stability improvements
