Litepanels has just announced the latest addition to the Gemini series: the 1x1 Hard RGBWW LED Panel. The new light adds a significant boost in power, as well as expanded light-shaping versatility, to the Gemini lineup, while retaining the form factor and extensive feature set that have made its predecessor, the 1x1 Soft RGBWW LED Panel, so popular with filmmakers and photographers.

The most impressive upgrade to the new Gemini is its power. The Gemini 1x1 Hard is capable of producing 3000 lux at 10 feet (daylight) with a relatively narrow 46-degree beam angle. With diffusion removed, its raw output is 20% more powerful than a 200W HMI. Complementing the power boost is improved color accuracy over its predecessor, with a TLCI/CRI of 98, ensuring precise color and consistent performance. The “hard” light design opens up more possibilities in terms of light shaping, whether using conventional set modifiers or Litepanels’ growing range of Gemini 1x1 accessories. To get you started, it comes with an ultra-light diffuser for blending the LEDs, as well as a domed diffuser that offers medium-level diffusion, softer light, and a wider beam angle. Switching from a hard to a soft source is as quick and easy as sliding diffusion into place.
