As we wrap up 2021, we are pleased to share Canon’s introduction of its DP-V1830 UHD 4K Reference Display, a video production monitor featuring a wide viewing angle, a bright, peak 1000 cd/m2 3840 x 2160 panel, and advanced HDR functions including improved local backlight control. Designed for studio and location work, the DP-V1830 is the first 18" UHD 4K display to join the ranks of existing 24, 30, and 31" Canon reference displays.
HDR Imagery/SDR Split Screen
A high brightness level is key to HDR monitoring, and the DP-V1830 delivers with a 1,000 cd/m2 level consistent with Dolby Vision, BT.2100, and EBU TECH3320 standards. All-black levels of 0.001 cd/m2 and a 1,000,000:1 contrast level help to produce accurate imagery with true blacks.
Use the DP-V1830 to display side-by-side SDR and HDR views simultaneously and to view HDR-critical tools like clipping, range compression, waveform, and camera metadata information onscreen. You can even store your preferred values to a function button for one-touch recall comparisons.
Backlight Control
Revved-up hardware enables the DP-V1830 to offer precision backlight control with optimal contrast between dark and light areas, improving your broadcast or cine-style capture of night scenes and fireworks.
