At CES 2022, Intel® announced a significant expansion to its line of 12th generation processors with the reveal of new Core™, Celeron, and Pentium Gold CPUs. Based on the Alder Lake-S architecture, these processors are designed to fit LGA 1700 socket motherboards with the Intel® 600 series chipset. More to the point, these newly announced desktop processors run the entire gamut of performance, ranging from power-saving models to high-performance CPUs that are designed to accelerate creative workflows and enhance entertainment experiences for gaming enthusiasts.
For everyday productivity, Intel® offers two Core™ i3 options, both of which are equipped with 12MB of cache and four Performance cores that can process eight threads with a Turbo frequency of 4.3 GHz. The difference between them is that the Core™ i3-12100 features integrated Intel® UHD 730 graphics, allowing you to view photos, videos, and documents using compatible motherboards without having to install a dedicated graphics card. Other power-efficient processors include the Intel® Celeron G6900 and Pentium Gold G7400 dual-core processors, which can process four and two threads, respectively. They consume less energy than the Core™ i3 CPUs while still offering integrated Intel® UHD 710 graphics.
