Enthusiast gamers and professional video content creators can look forward to getting their hands on the next generation of performance with Intel’s announcement of 12th-generation H-series laptop processors at CES 2022. For the first time, Intel® is bringing its hybrid core architecture to mobile computer systems, which features Performance-cores (P-cores) that power demanding applications, while Efficient-cores (E-cores) handle background tasks and multitasking. The integrated Intel® Thread Director manages everything by ensuring the right task is assigned to the right core at the right time. But that’s not all Intel® brought to the party. The introduction of these 12th-generation laptops was accompanied by exciting updates to the Evo design platform and details about the upcoming Arc GPU. So, without further ado, let’s dive into the innovations we can expect from 2022.
Intel® 12th-Generation Mobile Processors
Intel’s flagship 5 GHz Core™ i9-12900HK includes 14 cores, comprising six P-cores and eight E-cores, that can handle up to 20 threads, making it an absolute powerhouse of a mobile processor. It’s designed to deliver up to 28% faster gaming performance compared to the previous generation Core™ i9-11980HK CPU. Content creators may see up to 43% higher performance with 3D rendering with the new mobile CPU. Other significant upgrades include support for DDR5 memory at 4800 MHz to help boost intense workflows and high-end games. We should start seeing high-end Intel® 12th-Gen laptops from manufacturers such as ASUS, Razer, HP, and many others launch in February 2022.
