The mic improves on the original V-Mic D3 with significant upgrades to the sound quality, shockmount, gain knob, wind protection, cable, and with the very cool addition of a USB-C port, all offered at a surprisingly affordable price.
The side-mounted USB-C output jack is perfect for hybrid DSLR content creators who also want to connect their mic to a macOS/Windows computer or iOS/Android smartphone/tablet for podcasting and streaming. A built-in microprocessor automatically configures the included USB-C to TRRS cable to work with most 3.5mm mic-input jacks, making the V-Mic D4 also compatible with a variety of DSLR/mirrorless cameras, camcorders, mobile devices, and portable audio recorders.
