Accurate focus is a must when working with a cine lens, and Teradek's RT collection has always met a focus puller's needs. To make remote focusing even easier and more accurate, Teradek has just released the completely redesigned RT MOTR.S lens motor, with numerous enhancements over its predecessors, the MK3.1 and MOTR.X.
Also released with the MOTR.S are two kits: a MOTR.S single-channel kit, including the CTRL.1 and MDR.S, and a MOTR.S FIZ kit that includes three MOTR.S motors and the MDR.X. In addition, the new RT MOTR.S MAX lens motor will be introduced in the near future.
MOTR.S Improvements
The MOTR.S can be added to your RT lens control kit and will even replace your MOTR.X, since it comes with a total redesign. The motor includes an 0.8 MOD quick-release gear for fast gear swapping, is physically smaller than the MK3.1 and MOTR.X, is higher voltage―up to 32V than previous motors―and is much slimmer and balanced to fit better onto your rig, with its 15/19mm rod clamp. They are daisy-chainable, have reinforced sockets, and feature better cable management in the new design.
